CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Brooke believes that the Meisner technique is the basis of true, "in-the-moment" performance. Whether you are a Meisner veteran, a devout Stanislavsky actor, or a theatre newbie who wants to explore what Meisner can do for you, stay tuned for Brooke's upcoming Meisner Workshop Series at VA Tech. She will be exploring "Movement & Meisner" as well as "Meisner'ing the Musical".

Brooke was honored to be cast as the Baker's Wife in the University of Georgia's production of Into the Woods directed by Ricardo Aponte. Unfortunately, halfway through the rehearsal process it was COVID-cancelled. Here is Brooke and John Galas singing "It Takes Two" during the last rehearsal.

Brooke played Patelin in the all female, devised production of Peas, Patelin, & Purgation at UGA directed by Dr. Marla Carlson.
The show went international! The production was invited to perform at an international medieval theatre conference in Genoa, Italy in 2019.  Thanks to everyone who helped the cast perform abroad.
Review in The Red and Black
Critic's said:
"Patelin, played by Brooke McCarthy, hunched her body and jumped about the stage to give her character a caricature feel. McCarthy’s energy and stamina never waned in her laborious role." -The Red and Black

"During McCarthy’s performance, she recited lines in French, Italian, Spanish, German, Russian and Mandarin. She did so in a way that made her sound like a native speaker of each language, and the whole audience seemed to wait with baited breath as McCarthy naturally uttered one after another." - The R&B

Brooke was revved during her UGA Theatre debut in Alice Birch's wildly experimental and exhilaratingly disobedient play which challenges our often problematic relationships with sex, gender, and (most of all) language. This is a play about revolutionizing the body, mind, and spirit in a profound way.
Brooke was kicking high with excitement during her performance in Cole Porter's Parisian world of Can-Can the Musical at the Broadway Theatre of Pitman.  She played the role of the Model as well as one of the Can-Can dancers.

Brooke was delighted to perform in Season 7 of the New Voices Cabaret in Philadelphia!

Calling all freaks! Raise your flags! Brooke was flying with excitement as she journeyed in and out of Duloc playing the Wicked Witch in Shrek The Musical at the Broadway Theatre of Pitman.
